NOVICE MISTRESS MEETING
JUNE 16-26, 2009

The final unfolding of June 2009 events will go down in history because it was the first time so many Dominican nuns traveled to the west coast for a meeting! Someone said, I didn’t know it was so far to California! But the journey was worth every minute of airport inconveniences because our weather was picture perfect, the grounds were spacious and pleasantly accommodating for outdoor walking, photo opportunities, picnicking and recreational enjoyment, which included a daily swim for many. The course of studies kept our visitors occupied in the meeting rooms most of the day and Fr. Basil Cole, OP from D.C. provided conferences, along with Fr. Anthony Rosevear, OP (novice master for the Western Province) and Fr. Dominic Izzo, OP (the Association friar consultant). We loved this opportunity to share our home with everyone, even though we experienced some of the "empty nest" let down after everyone departed for home.
